Sea sediment Jasper is gorgeous and even a little mysterious. I searched Google for a definition to include here and while there are a few comments to say it is apparently not jasper, there is little confirmation of what it actually is instead.
I don't mind not knowing what stone it is because I love the mottled veins, spots and detail. Each piece has its own personality which is why I found these free form beads particularly individualistic and pleasing. Sea sediment Jasper comes in a variety of dyed colours and shapes usually highly polished focal beads are more widely available. A departure from blue I had great fun creating these.
Did you know that like orange and silver no true word rhymes with purple?
But I digress, the bold patterns of the focal bead have small flecks that the liquid gold glass and copper accent beads compliment. Teamed with antique toggle clasp to complete the rich colours reminiscent of Byzantine jewellery.

Sky Blue Quartz and Glass Bead Necklaces
Blue is my favourite colour with peacock blues being my absolute fave. These sky blue quartz focal beads are a delicate but unusual shade of blue and reflect the light so beautifully that I just had to make up some necklaces with them.
I am tempted to make some with other colour combinations but so far a variety of shapes in the same shade seem to work best. In saying that one of the necklaces has the palest lavender AB cube beads!
I have changed my Facebook page cover shot to show these too. Do you like them?

Single Pearl Set
I have been making a lot of multi stranded necklaces, bracelets and for something completely different I decided to make this set.
It is finished in silver plate but I would be happy to make it with sterling silver for a special occasion such as a wedding.
My earrings always have sterling silver earwires to avoid sensitivities and allergic reactions to plate silver.

Tangerine Lariat style Necklace with matching earrings
I believe orange is one of the top 10 colours for Spring 2011. It is not a colour I usually consider when designing jewellery so I decided to give it a go. Here is a lariat style necklace with a Tibetan silver toggle clasp on beading chain with tangerine colour facetted glass beads and matching rhinestone rondelles. There are 5 dangles including a butterfly and a ladybird and matching earrings.
This set is available on my website and as I don't have any more of these orange beads is a one off colourway although I will be adding different colours in a similar style.

Freshwater pearls for Spring 2011
I have several strands in a variety of shapes and thought that the delicate colours would be perfect for this Spring.
So far I can show you my multi strand bracelet in aqua, I made a matching necklace too.
a bracelet in buttercup coloured pearls
and another necklace in raspberry.

The vaguaries of screen resolution!
I love shopping online, no crowds, no queues, no parking issues or heavy bags to carry but sometimes it doesn't work out as planned. It all has to do with that little statement about screen resolution differing from computer to computer.
A case in point is the blue heart earrings I have planned. I made the necklace and the bracelet but need smaller hearts for the earrings. I couldn't find them so I went online - how hard could it be?
From the description and picture I thought I had matched up my glass hearts, alas not so! I said I would show case them here but I can only show you the bracelet and another necklace I made. I know I shouldn't make the same mistake twice but I have ordered more blue glass hearts online in the hope that they will match - ever the optimist!
The bracelet to match the necklace seen in a previous blog post. Finished with a sterling silver toggle clasp and sterling findings, it consists of 4 strands of silver lined glass seed beads and royal blue glass faceted beads with a chunky 20mm glass heart focal bead.
Thanks for visiting today I wish you a lovely week and as always comments most welcome!

A simple but pretty 3 strand clear glass chip necklace interspersed with silver beads and finished with a silver plated toggle clasp.
A less 'arty' shot so you can see the whole necklace.

Keep It Simple Sometimes
An adaptation of the acronym K.I.S.S but there is so much statement jewellery out that the simple but elegant necklace seems forgotten.
A subtle outfit with chunky jewellery is stunning but sometimes uncluttered accessories really finish a look without competing. Too much of a good thing can look bad so I made these. They are light, sit beautifully with no dangly or fiddly bits.
They work well with a smart suit, a glam outfit that wants to be centre stage or with jeans and a T-shirt.
Let me know what you think.

One World One Heart
I am so excited to be part of an idea that grew from humble beginnings to reach out to people all over the world!
A word from the organiser....
This event began in 2007. The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way. This is more than wanting to win something.......that is only the means.......in the end it's about finding kindred spirits. Someone who may be fairly new to blogging, not sure how to navigate, find others and have others find them....Some are long time bloggers and in some cases well known in the art community. Whatever the case it brings all of them together. It transcends geographical location, socio economics, political affiliation, religious beliefs......it's a coming together like the giant community we are on this planet. You don't need to be an artist to participate each year, this is open to everyone. The aim is for the event post itself to be about welcoming and showing what each visitor has a chance to win by stopping by.....AND giving the visitor a chance to read and learn more about each person along the way.
Good Luck xxx

Something a little different
Good day - I hope Monday is the start of a lovely week for everyone!
As mentioned earlier I haven't been crafting much but doing some thinking and planning. Yeah! I know that sounds like an excuse for doing nothing! Well I really felt like I needed to make something and so this necklace set came into being. It is a little different from the kind of things I normally make and is a potentially exciting new direction.
Necklace is memory wire covered with a velveteen tube offset with rhinestone chrystal rondelle spacer beads in lemon yellow. The focal point is silver colour discs with glass beads and chrystal spacer beads.

Both necklace and earrings are finished with silver plate findings and available in my MISI shop.
Another necklace set I made this weekend I can't unveil at the moment as I am planning on joining the exciting
ONE WORLD-ONE HEART
blogathon that Amanda from Maygreen Fairies has entered. She posted info on the craft forum about it. It's such a fabulous idea and I am getting my post ready.......
