Organic Cat Fur - Free to a good Home

Not your average fused glass posting but something I have done for a few years now. I have 2 beautiful Persian cats that come Spring time, even though indoor only cats, they shed like there is no tomorrow!
Each time I comb them I have the equivalent of another cat but instead of just throwing their fur in the bin but I collect it and put it out in the trees and bushes for the birds. Valentine in particular has ultra fine fur, like wool which makes him a nightmare to groom as he gets so knotty but is wonderfully soft.I love watching the birds come and pick bits to 'feather' their nests and the predator becomes a source of warmth! Not only have I watched birds collect the fur but when we cleaned out the Blue Tit box in Autumn there was Valentine fur in there!
It's locally grown and harvested from a renewable resource and supplied in biodegradable packaging thus leaving no carbon footprint.
I also shed a lot! All year round, in fact, much to my husbands annoyance! However in Spring I put my hair out with the cat fur!
Admittedly not as soft and cosy as cat fur but I would imagine there are structural uses such as holding a nest together!
As this year has been a particularly cold and wet one I thought that soggy cat fur wouldn't be unlikely to impress Mrs Bird so I have come up with this idea
I hope it works - I will try and get a snapshot!

In an English Urban garden

Here are a few of the inhabitants of our garden. We love animals and all of Creation so we don't use any chemicals or other poisonous substances and we have various areas of chopped branches and other havens for small creatures and birds.
This means we do land up with loads to see just outside when gardens around us are fairly devoid of creatures, if more manicured.
We always wondered why this feeder got emptied yet we never saw any birds on it - culprits have been found and captured on camera! Can anyone identify this character?
I am scared of spiders and even felt brave taking a picture of these - I couldn't bring myself to get closer for a macro shot although the markings are beautiful. I admire their dexterity, shape and form and yet they send shivers down my spine.

My fave is bumblebees but here are 2 other insects I captured
The birds are of course an endless delight and the cats spend hours watching them through the door - we call it Cat TV.
An English garden without a robin - unthinkable! So cute and friendly, they will even sit on your foot or spade if you are digging up their fave worms - I haven't yet managed to be digging, have a robin on my foot and take a pic so this little guy is eating some of the bread and seeds we throw out dailyLast but not least Mr Greedy!

I went birdwatching!

I don't have any finished work to show for the moment. I have just received the ACEO blanks I bought and clear sleeves as I want to have a go at this art form.
I have also been busy preparing for Passover as well as having hubby off work and son off school which restricts craft time - but not in a bad way!
We did however go birdwatching at RSPB Rainham Marsh. I would not have dreamt of ever doing such a thing even a few years ago but OH has got me interested in birds and when you stop to take a look there is so much to see. This is only my second birdwatching trip but I will be going on more.
Rainham is not a very pretty site and I was not expecting much to be honest - a friend who went with us said we would see in excess of 40 different birds and actually we saw 46 types! Here are some pics, not the best photography - for the reason (excuse), read on......
Ok not technically a bird but very beautiful all the same
We had a wonderful day, the weather although windy was dry, can't really stretch to say sunny, and I have discovered I need a super duper mega lens for my camera - you know the kind that can take a picture of a skylarks eyelashes from 500 feet away!
This is a Reed Bunting, apparently they don't usually sit still enough to take a pic
These cute little Gold Finches were at the feeders near the entrance, I guess it's cheating to feed them and then take pics but they were such fun to watch while we ate our sarnies!
Gorgeous colours on this Lapwing!
This little Green Finch has a twisted beak poor mite!
Watervoles are being successfully reintroduced and this guy is soooo cute!
A cheeky Wren landed on the boardwalk a few metres from us, really difficult to take a shot and sadly I didn't get a proper focus before it fluttered off.
